 This video totally helped me out. Explaining the different color screws on the switch itself was key. The screws actually lined up different than most published diagrams which lead to my problems. Really great video. Thanks again.

 Tyrone- excellent presentation- hooah!.  You could use a clamp-on type current probe attachment for the multimeter to measure current.  With this attachment you would not need to insert the meter into the circuit (series connection)
